@MalaLinga The driver was Mike Mosley. He was on fire and that's why he was jumping out before the car stopped.

Swede's crash at 2:30 was pretty horrific and doesn't really deserve an 'ouch'. 1973 was a crappy year at Indy. In the 70's the cars' speed had way exceeded their safety capability. Agree with the poster re Smiley's crash in Quals in '82. The Indy 500's safety record has been pretty good since then.
