Journalist-writer and human rights defender Jahangir Alam Akash has made investigative report on extra judicial killings, corruption, minority-Indigenous oppression and Islamic militancy in DW Radio German (International media, Radio), CSB News (first 24 hours news TV channel in Bangladesh) and the oldest Bengali newspaper of Bangladesh the Daily Sangbad. Only for his professional activities he has obtained huge enemies from different sectors such as Army, RAB, Islamic militant, some political influential. So, he was illegally arrested, tortured and detained for 28 days by army-RAB in 2007. He was hung with the ceiling for 15 hours in an army torture camp with blind folded. They wanted to kill him in the name of so called crossfire. But, by the national and international intervene (especially for the helped of Asian Human Rights Commission, Amnesty International, CPJ, RSF, IFJ, IPI, IEFX, GHRD, BRCT and BFUJ etc.) Akash has got his second life. RAB was tortured him in front of his child, wife and rental house owner. They gave him electric shocked, hung him (for 15 hours) with the ceiling, they blind folded (for 15 hours) him. They have implicated him with several false, fabricated and political motivated charges. Now he is living in exile in Germany. After his persecution he has wrote six (including two in English) books on Islamic militancy, extra judicial killings, corruption, minority oppression, human rights violation, press freedom and freedom of speech. He has paralysed physically, mentally, socially, economically after brutal persecution. He has lost his dignity also.
