Performance-based Standards (PbS) for Juvenile Correction Facilities is a self-improvement and accountability system used by 115 volunteer sites in 27 states to better the quality of life for youths in custody. An initiative of the U.S. Department of Justice, PbS sets national goals and provides the blueprint and technique to achieve improvement and success in treating confined youths. The program was a 2004 Innovations in American Government Award winner.
