This song was originally written for harp, but it sounds pretty good on piano, too. :)

  • very good performance ! (a tad too fast for a celtic tune though ;) )

it's exceptional to hear celtic/irish tunes played on piano (normally it's the harp)

btw have you tried Carolan's Ramble ? (it's his best tune, IMO)

  • @schwarzfalk yes, it's played to fast, I'm playing it a bit slower now.

This tune is actually from a harp training book ;-) But I found that it sounded so nice, that I had to play it on piano (I don't play the harp)

No, I haven't tried that one, we should have some sheets of that. I'll try it when I come back from New Zealand ;-)

  • This was the track played in SATC when aidan broke up with carrie at charlotte's wedding...thanx a zillion for uploading!

  • @sayaridas good to know ;-)

    more than welcome though

  • Thank you so much for your comments :D

Maybe I should do some more Irish Folk.

  • Good job :D

  • love this tune! we played it as our sow piece in our traditional music group :) O carolans draught is another fantastic piece you might like :D

  • @beckerdaniel89 sheets ? nah you won't need sheets, there's a video to the song (the "good" version, cause there are 2 versions)

check this youtube vid : GFUrT0ildug

  • you should check out the version by mícheál ó súilleabháin. he adds some really nice ornaments and trills and stuff. i cant find his sheet music anywhere but you might be able to pick them up by ear?

  • For my money this is one of Ireland's most beautiful slow airs, but it has to be played slowly. This is far too fast, as if he is only intending to run through the tune.

  • for me this is a definative version which i will use to practise..well done...do more Irish stuff...you are a natural..jim dublin
