  • Jaberwocky is right. The painting is, 'Judith beheading Holofernes', by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. Painted 1598-1599. He's certainly one of my favorite painters.

  • The Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields also has a very good recording of these concerti grossi.

  • I fell in love with this interpretation of this piece, and when i went to buy it on itunes, nothing could compare.

    I was quite disappointed.
