  • you know sometimes we are so in love with the choral tone that sometimes we forget to "let the music live." This piece is supposed to be much much more in tempo..... the rendition of this has no intensity and is painful to listen to because of the "funeral" type dragging of the tempo.... "Awake, Awake...." this section should be moving forward with intensity....... it is really a shame..... such beautiful singers but a very poor rendition of the music.

  • I loved singing this song. This sounds amazing! It's so powerful.

  • Try for a more "resonant" sound, basses, on the 'Awake! Awake!'... Also, watch your consonant word endings... Make sure to enunciate. The steples did what? They ran? No. They rang...

  • Choir opened my ears and heart to AMAZING songs like this! I LOVE IT!

  • There were some intonation issues with the vowels in the words sang and rang. be careful on that! ALSO, it makes me super sad that some people are holding music and some people aren't. I realize its two different choirs but if ESPECIALLY if its the collegiate choir holding the music its a problem. Both of these groups are too good to let that slide. I'm also glad that the tempo finally picked up towards the middle of the song. Too much dragging! But like I said, what an amazing sound!

  • The tempo sounded fine to me...

  • @seagorich I agree completely. Good tone great singers but this piece wasn't interpreted correctly

  • @seagorich The "no alleluia" part is supposed to be faster. It's very dragging, sounds incredible but so much sadder than it's supposed to be. I remember singing tenor for this part and the choir was incredible. This choir has good tone quality but it's sounds like such a funeral march and it's singing of how music filled their life and how without music there would be no life in things. It's such a beautiful song...

  • @seagorich I agree! I've performed this twice and I can't imagine taking it that slow

  • The sound is amazing! Easily one of my favorite songs and its done beautifully!

  • and wait until you hear it with the organ..... WOW!!
