BTW,your vid sold me on this rifle...going to Academy Sports tomorrow and get a wood stocked one with a Simmons scope on it for the utilitarian purpose of killing turtles in my catfish pond.My old handmedown Marlin 60 that my grandpaw left me is finally wore out!Thank you for your thorough review.Im so exited to be getting my own!

Mag release can be a bitch with the stock mags. Mag release is a good idea. I have the stainless and have had it for 12-15 yrs. Problem is they put a clear coat over the reciever and triggergaurd and it can scratch if not handled like a rifle should be handled. I have never dropped a gun in my 47 years. The biggest bitch i have is loading the hi cap mags. Mods? I cant find a stock laminated stock or a classic walnut stock anywhere. Only hi tech plastic and thumbhole types.
