@chr5210 "M*A*S*H" broke that rule on October 1, 1979 with the term "son of a bitch" in the episode "Guerrilla My Dreams" (Season 8). And "ER" actually use the term "Shit!" in "On the Beach" (Anthony Edwards' final episode as a regular) on May 9, 2002.

I don't think so. The TV Ratings is unconstitutional. They should say you snot nose brat. You son of a gun. Bitch is a dirty profanity foul and insulting languages. TV Codes and Movie Codes don't appreciate it according to censorship. It's all in the past now. We're trained to follow the law and order, the rules and regulations in the United States.

Why did J.R. say "you son of a..." instead of bitch to Cliffhanger Barnes if he says "I was about Barnes Ewing," just like the court reporter host of the People's Court Doug Llewelyn? Using you son of a instead of bitch is not allow on television in the primetime soap opera Dallas on CBS. It is prohibited. It's the law. The Television Code Seal of Good Practice from the National Association of Broadcasters is a censorship.
