Yeah man. I was tired of all these racist comments on the internet talking about blacks coming from the jungle and never having any form of advanced civilization. Turns out that we had plenty before the Greeks even heard of Asia. I bet racists dont even know that the Ashanti Empire went to war with the British Empire, 4 times and WON. Racism is sad. Just pathetic and sad no matter where it comes from. Black, white, yellow, brown, blue, polka-dotted we're all human. Feel me?

You are missing the point of what "universal value" means, unfairly restricting it to a contingent, subjective definition. Quoting from Wikipedia: "[S]omething could have universal value when all people have reason to believe it has value. Amartya Sen interprets the term in this way, pointing out that when Mahatma Gandhi argued that non-violence is a universal value, he was arguing that all people have reason to value non-violence, not that all people currently value non-violence."

Freedom is not a universal value.
That is an excellent point. People that believe we need a powerful state to supress liberties are a overwhelming majority. An example outside of Islam is Orientals. In those cultures loyalty, self sacrifice and duty is often valued over individual liberty.
I value freedom but those views were largely shaped by my upbrining, environment and the culture I was raised in.

You're absolutely right. I shouldnt have used that.

All agreed except racism is just lame and ignorant. Being gay is just being gay, nothing wrong with gay or black.

That picture of Bush's thumb at 2:18 is lame, but still pretty damn funny.

I really liked it, especially how Roger Scruton stressed the term "stewardship" over "environmentalism."
