A 1970 Mustang runs mid 10's. Street driven this vid is at the track with mufflers and street legal tires, full interior. Only 605 cubic inches.

How much power do you have are u using the top loader?

The reason you see Chevy engines put in old Fords like a Model T or A is the Chevy engine will fit and a small block Ford will not. The small block Ford is a longer engine and the oil pan will hit the tie rods. When you see a Ford engine in there, it usually has a Mustang II front clip or a Volare front clip. You will have to put a new front clip, if not, the only thing that fits is a Chevy. That is sad!

yeah, mr. jmoe has a point buddy. i've seen a 289 small block take on everything up to a 454 chevy and win. lets see a small block chevy do that.

because, alot of people want to go to hell. chevys are cheaper, fords are better. and to the comment above you have to dump tons of cash into a 383 to put up those numbers, the 605 probably dosent have nirous, s/c, t/c, etc, that shit has poteintial. plus he probly didnt want to screw up anything by launching it hard, that is an 8 second car with a little work and time, but damn...street mustang that can eat everything...awesome. Hopefully my '66 will be as quick one day

Its 4.625 bore, 4.500 stroke. Its based on a Ford Motorsport 4 bolt block. Blue Thunder heads. 10:1 comp, very streetable.
