@jerzeytpke - what exit ya from?
The role Cher's character played in her death was left open - aka; likely having "spilled the beans" to the company during questioning. Given the cagey way she answered Karen's questions about her telling them about the xrays - Cher's answer was, "they already know everything about us". Classic. Therefore: she might as well tell them everything.
People never assume their words are strong enough to cause tragedy - but, it never fails to work.

@msmithstud --The documents she had with her en route to meet the NYTimes reporter and Stone were not in the car. And, the car's rear bumper had two evenly spaced indentations in the back - consistent with another vehicle ramming into the back of her car.
It's more than 35 years after her death. Let's please not regress backwards and do what about everyone else "not wanting to rock the boat" did at the time: put blinders on.
It demeans the horror and historical significance of her death.

My mother loves this movie. I really want to try and get it for her.
I love Meryl Streep, and this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Thanks for posting! Wish they hadn't disabled parts 1 and 2.

So who was responsible for Silkwood's death? Cher or Craig T. Nielson?
