Since the end of the Cold War a decade ago, the U.S. has gone to war in Iraq, Somalia, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan.
Supporters say the interventions are humanitarian deployments to stop aggression, to topple dictatorships, or to halt what they describe as terrorism. Critics argue that with the US possessing unprecedented economic and military strength, American leaders have openly embraced the idea of imposing its ambitions on to the world. However, after each U.S. intervention, the attention of supporters and critics alike has turned to speculate on which countries would be next.

  • I don't always agree with Robert Fisk - but the American tink-thanker is a REAL piece of shit, a rude yuppie neocon prick!

    Death to arrogance!

  • I can't help watch the news and try to analyze the producers agenda even when I agree with it.

The host is asking hard questions that are specifically worded in a way that if the American would actually answer, he would admit guilt. So he just keeps replying with the republican bull. Instead of discussing issues the show ultimately shows him as an ignorant, petty, bullshiting warmonger.

As for the British guy, I like him, but he's only there to accent how much of an asshole this other guy is.

  • robert fisk is great but the other guy!!god!!wht an idiot!!

  • @1sthighkick While I completely agree with you, this very video serves to exemplify Fisk's awareness of such faulty questioning. Such as when he responds to the interviewer with "I can't answer your question." He's pretty much just trying to avoid the ad hominem bullshit coming from Mr. Blakeman. But yes, the interviewer is being a complete moron, and the title of the segment does not reflect its content; which is ten minutes of useless shit.

But please forward me any useful videos!

  • @1sthighkick Now this is a more interesting perspective! I'm glad you took the time to explain yourself; and in a good manner (not trying to be condescending towards you but you must understand the shear about amount of idiocy one runs into on here!). Anyways, I would love to discuss with you. I will forward you some messages (privately) within the next couple of days.

And yes I understand that these news agencies tend to pursue questions far too general/ broad to be answered simply.

  • @mikewtp: Oh and by the way, many of the questions on Al Jazeera are broad and faulty. that is why I said all of the guys in this show are a bunch of twats. Each is there thinking they can give answers to such broad and general questions. by the way, this is one of the reasons people love such "shows". they believe complicated questions could be answered easily. I WOULD WATCH ANY SHOW THAT CAN DO SUCH A THING.

  • @mikewtp: A lot of things. Anger is but one of the changes. Have you ever felt someone speaks on your behalf in a way you don't like? Thats a part of my problem with him. Fisk, as some authors said, is someone who can find the good in every country except his own. I am from the Middle East by the way. It is people like Fisk who, by defying imperialism vaguely, convince the world that democratic values don't work in the middle east. Anything you want to ask? say? and discuss? feel free.

  • @1sthighkick What's wrong with Fisk? I understand he's become angrier over time, but it's only because he now believes nothing will change and there's a certain hopelessness in the world. But he's knowledgeable, rational, and incredibly experienced.

  • Fisk is a prick, and so are the other two in the show. but Fisk the crapiest.

  • Thanks p0rkytso. It angers me when American politicians go on about defending their national interests and security which is a pretext for miliary expansion. "War on terrorism" is a hoax and an excuse for continual war. You can't declare war on a tactic. The CIA is the most powerful terrorist group in the world. As said by a CIA agent, the CIA is responsible for most wars in third world countries. "They (Russia) attacked a sovereign country"? He said. America has attacked sovereign countries!

  • great comment

  • BUSH is only a puppet, did it ever occur or cross people's minds? it's the same with your current president (sorry to say)

You sound like a genuine person, a perfect example of the good people of america.
