View interesting being an online PR myself. I think that the 1:1 personal approach works best. Not the spamming of press releases. Sharing content and funny/interesting/free stuff works best.

haha, yes i've been approached by so many daft PR people. e.g. asking me to advertise an expensive product while the blog is about making do with what's around you and what you can find in the trash... how can these people hold their jobs? must at some point post a 'best of...' inappropriate PR ;)
