Yes, let's make these emergencies as visually and audibly unpleasant and terrifying as possible for everyone! Why do they do this anyway? If they want people to remain calm and think clearly, why use startling sounds and near-complimentary colors? I've always wondered this since I was a kid. Those beginning beeps still send shivers down my spine...

So was the voice actually from the original broadcast during the tornadoes? Or was it text to speech? Because during the tornadoes I don't recall hearing this EAS announcement.
