This is the same machine that I posted in my first video yesterday. I found this on my hard drive. This is late last summer, early fall area. It raked some leaves off to the side like I inteneded it, but if I remember correctly, it misses a couple too.

  • The main intent was to dethach my yard rather than rake leaves. I can blow leaves much more efficently unless they are very wet or frozen to the ground. Over all though, I think I proved a concept, but preformance is not where I would like it to be.

  • failllll

  • @brucecore Fail? What is so bad about it?

  • @drewr13NJ Thanks for the constructuve criticism. You are right. The leaves tend to roll under the rake where the sheet metal is, which acts as the fulcrum tends to catch the material and drag it. I think it would be better if the rake fulcrum is up higher off the ground. There are other designes like a rollbar hay rake that would work to windrow material. I think I proved the concept, but it lacks the preformance for which I hoped for. Also, the main design intent was to dethach.

  • LOL!!! More Redneck JUNK!!!

  • Ever hear of Rube Goldberg? He made large complex machines to do simple jobs. I think the only concept you've proven is that you can build a machine that can waste time and money simultaneously.

  • I like your machine, you had mentioned a performance issue, perhaps try using metal rakes in place of plastic ones. Perhaps add some weight to them as well.

  • nice

  • Buy your self a lawn sweeper!! cheaper, quicker and greener...

  • Well thought out, maybe not as efficient as you would have liked. I really like your creativity.

  • @drewr13NJ well it's an extravagant design..its got a lot of thought. but once any sort of pile accumulates under the rake it will just roll over and slide underneath. If it was a design sort of like the beach comber trailers to pick up garbage under the sand then I think it would be more efficient. I guess I mean efficiency fail. but nice work on the trailer
