Hey I've been planning on buying an electric resonator guitar. Yet I want to be able to play both acoustic and electric. Electric won't do much sittin around a campfire! I noticed your guitars sound fairly good acoustic, is it because the resonator goes all the way through? Anyway, I've been looking at a similair guitar but it only has the resonator emitting sound on top, will it still sound good acoustic? Or should I just get a full blown acoustic and electro resonator guitar?

My recommendation would depend on how you plan to primarily play. It is true that my solidbody reso-electric can be played fairly loudly unplugged (like the National student models that inspired it), if you plan on playing mostly acoustic, I use an acoustic reso with a pickup for occasional plugged-in situations. If you plan on playing mostly electric with occasional unplugged campfire type situations, I'd go with a solidbody reso. The backside cover plate does allow more acoustic volume.
