Many reasons abound for the exact reason WHY the Beatles wanted Pete fired ... and it was Brian Epstein who actually told Pete he was out and Ringo was in. Let it suffice to say there is an ARMY of people who were actually there (in Liverpool and in Hamburg) ... fans, other musicians, etc. who state emphatically that Ringo was NOT a better drummer.

Your statement is quite wrong when you state "the Bealte's producer decided to get the band a different drummer". It is a well documented fact that George Martin never suggested Pete be replaced as the Beatles drummer. Rather, for the recording sessions, Martin wanted to use a session drummer. In a recent interview Martin explains what happened after the Beatles first audition for Parlophone:

You forgot, he outlived 3 bandmates... Stuart Sutcliffe was one of the originals as well. He died a very short while after joining. I'm not sure if Pete had started drumming at that point yet, but I'm pretty sure he was with the band (he was with them as part of the crew for his first year).
