For some reason, in the games section of the Halifax airport they also have a machine that, for $2.00, dispenses fresh cotton candy. Part of the allure of the machine is that the process can be witnessed, or recorded, by the purchaser.

After seeing this I was curious how much such a machine cost and how they could possible sell enough cotton candy in an airport to make the operation financially viable.

  • I saw the post that the cotton candy vending machine was removed, but is the rest of the arcade still there?

  • @nashvillan4lif As far as I know, yes, the arcade is still there.

  • Where abouts is this in the airport?

  • @volleyballer3115 It was in a small arcade area between the arrivals and departures portions of the airport. Since the filming of this video it has been removed.

  • I own one of these machines and they are super reliable. as for the comment about the dirty hands if you watch the video or use a little common sense you'll see people grab the cotton candy from the stick side. On top of that the door is locked at all times except when the vend is done. It also has an alarm if someone hold the door open for more than 10 seconds. and lastly each vend is almost 2000 percent profit.

  • I don't like how it just drops the candy in that compartment "head first". The bottom part that comes into contact with the candy could be contaminated by dirty fingers from the person before, especially at an arcade where lots of little sick kids using their hands touching everything, spreading their germs around from person to person, joystick to joystick.

  • LOL wow! I had no idea it was there. It reminds me of the fair. I've spent so many hours in that airport. It could have come in handy when my flight to the UK was delayed for over 4 hrs late at night. Everything was shut down. At least we would have gotten something to eat!
