PETRONAS MOTORSPORTS and ENGINEERING

PETRONAS' 13-year collaboration with Sauber extends beyond Formula One's global exposure. Technology transfer programmes conducted at Sauber PETRONAS Engineering, a 60:40 joint-venture company owned by Sauber and PETRONAS have produced more than 50 automotive engineering specialists for Malaysia. Its efforts in developing capabilities have seen PETRONAS formulate and supply advanced fuel and lubricants for the consumption of the Sauber PETRONAS Formula One cars as well add new chapters in Malaysia's engineering milestones with the creation of automotive engines, in particular the GP1, which powered Malaysia's first super bike, the PETRONAS FP1 and PETRONAS E01 engine... now PETRONAS looking forward to share the knowledge on engineering and be the good partner with German BMW who currently owned the BMW Sauber F1 Team by improving the sporting performance.

A month after becoming the youngest Asian in the world to win a major Touring car championship title, the newly crowned 2007 Asian Touring Car Champion, Malaysian Fariqe Hairuman was in Munich this past weekend to receive a special trophy from BMW.

The trophy was presented by BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen in recognition of the 24-year old's accomplishments in the 2007 Asian Touring Car Series. The PETRONAS Syntium Team driver had earlier capped off his third season in the series taking home the coveted title driving the BMW 320i in the final round of the championship at Zhuhai on November 4th 2007!

in year 2008, PETRONAS signed an agreement to be a partnership with TOYOTA and TOM's in Japan's Super GT race championship, Formula Nippon and Japan Formula 3.. the new team was named PETRONAS TOYOTA TEAM TOM'S.. at the first round of Japan Super GT on 16 March 2008, PETRONAS TOM'S Lexus SC 430 got into podium position at number 3 just behind the NISMO Nissan GT-R 35 team who got the first and second place of the competition.

and I hope the standing will be better and better in each of the race.. may Malaysia, German, Japan and Switzerland have a good partnership in automotive engineering and other sectors.. HOPE FOR MORE GREAT SUCCESS!
