a short visit with an angel - different version

The kids take a magic elevator and visit an angel, who offers a different perspective on things.

Adapted from "The Adventures of Mark Twain" (1985), a claymation film by Will Vinton, who is better known for the California Raisins commercials. I had an "oh yeah of course" reaction when I read that. (It's obvious once someone points it out, like a lot of things.) You can get it on DVD at Amazon.

That work is itself an adaptation of several of Mark Twain's works, including "The Mysterious Stranger."

You can find Twain's The Mysterious Stranger" in google.com's books area. Just search for it.

Twain's story is fascinating of course, but the original claymation segment seemed like a jewel in a bubble gum wrapper. This version removes many of the distractions and clay-based editorializing, abandons any relationship to the Twain story, and adds a special effect to the island shots. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Just edited the footage, which came from the claymation DVD mentioned in the description at top right. The editing sotware was Canopus Edius. The original DVD puts the "strange" in "Mysterious Stranger." :)
