It can be forgiven that people like you make statements like that, because a lot of us know that you don't know what you're talking about, but for those who don't: Faddis made a niche for himself being a high note player, true, however he's incredible all around jazz trumpeter as well. You've just not listened to enough of his stuff. Then again, people like you know nothing about the music industry and just make ignorant statements anyway. So, have fun being ignorant.

you're ungrateful. these are a bunch of high school students who are talented jazz musicians and worked their asses off to be in the presence of the LCJO and to watch jon faddis play along would be a huge honor. watch what you're talking about. and he's not showing off! listen to "rockin' in rhythm".. or any ellington at all for that matter. this man has got history, and chops to match.

Jon, play "hey there" MF version, don't miss a note, be in tune, get a great , fat sound ( screamer sound not needed ) and the $1000 is yours!

Yeah but Faddis plays In the FADDISPHERE. MF doesnt. Lol. and thats a patented term. Its not destroying someone- its giving them something to work towards. I hope at least.
