With some music from BBC News, I've created a mock ident for RTÉ's upcoming new international television channel. RTÉ are hopeful to have the channel up and running around September 2008.

Let's be honest about this. The Irish government is one of the greediest in the world, and there will be little chance of RTÉ International, now or anytime in the future. They promise it for next year, then next year, then next year. They have been delaying it each year since 2005/6. Every other nation has managed at least one international station (BBC, BVN, TV5, RTL, TVE etc)

Are we likely to see this channel materialise under the greedy grabbing hands of Fianna Fáil???? - probably not !

Why does everyone use the BBC News theme when doing RTÉ mock idents? Firstly, RTÉ News have their own music and secondly, if RTÉ were to rip off the music from another nations broadcaster, it would never be a British one.

I hope this does come about, all you get in Britain is Radio 1 LW - I only saw what Enda Kenny looked like this September and he looks even shiftier than he sounds.

how come all of RTE's graphic renderings are so crap? In all the years of RTE, they have always had cheapo yellow pack graphics... RTE is garbage, they will never evolve.
