These are private security guards, called "gardoman" (I've forgotten the Romanji). Still, they are very well turned out and very professional in their conduct. The only thing they are there to protect is the sanity of the queue and the pedestrians on the sidewalk. These huge crowds turn out for ever new store opening and event; older people and "window sitters" often will join a line just for something to do. They have no idea what the line is for, its an ad hoc social event.

@Sonchigautam Oh, sorry for my mistake. Was impressed by the nice uniforms. And they did a very professional job!
