At a Rails In The Garden "layout day" (www.ritginc.org), I finally got the opportunity to run my steam locomotive, an Accucraft Mogul, on a continuous run.
It performed quite well on the day, despite hauling 4 AMS wagons on greasy track with sharp curves and some evidence of grades. After a few runs, I decided to oil the axle boxes of all the AMS cars, which both got rid of an annoying squeak (audible in a couple of scenes here) and made the locomotive perform much better (prevented it stalling at a tricky location).
It has good slow speed operation, has a realistic top speed, a nice chuff, good pulling power, and is easy to run (it's on manual control). It is, however, sometimes a challenge to light up - I've had a couple of fireballs from the smokebox . . .
Due to the load and conditions I was getting about 25 minutes run time per steaming. I hope to install a goodall valve in order to extend this.
It's a fantastic locomotive which is a pleasure to operate.
do you actually burn wood with this loco?

I wish I could take credit! Unfortunately, the only thing I built up was steam . . . this is a ready-to-run locomotive from accucraft.
Thanks for the compliment about the video though!
