She was such a talented songbird for several decades until she ended it with suicide. I think that she sang so well with such deep emotions because she had a very troubled personal life, especially with men. I could feel her profound sadness in this song even though I didn't understand the French language. Indeed, music is a universal language that transcends above all barriers.

@Faust075 So, which one of them is a grape juice than? If Lara didn't sing this song we would never know how beautiful this song can be, Dalida sung it like a communist marsh and Lama did it as if he was a cartoon character - both suck.

Dalida was wery good at lip-singing, acting for TV too.
Try her "Parole Parole" here on YT
Little need to understand lyrics (Paroles!) there again... (1974)

@Forever1Charmed There's no need to think in this case if you have ears. Key word is experience. The rest is just a pathetic bullshit. Reread my comments. In which of them I've said that Lara's not talented?

@PatroclusLover The last sentence is true.
And you think Lara Fabian sings about what she doesn't know about? We are all people and this is the key word! We've got emotions which appears in every soul differently! And if you see Lara Fabian singing it different, not what you want to hear, this doen't not definetely mean she's not talanted and interprets it without emotions!

Dalida et la meilleure .

Lara Fabian chante plus feu brulant, comme Jacques Brel, que Dalida. C'est une question de temperament et de gout. Moi, je prefere le feu.
Sorry, but comparing Dalida to Lara Fabian is like comparing a Château Margaux to grape juice ...
