THE VANDERBILT REPUBLIC (VR) is a non-profit creative agency that partners with arts/culture/human justice organizations to assist in the realization of their goals. We expand the horizons of thoughtful, creative expression; we utilize technology as it emerges to present the world matters of importance.
CAMBODIAN LIVING ARTS (CLA) is our current partner organization. CLA has the vision that by the year 2020, Cambodia will experience a cultural renaissance so dynamic that the arts have become the country's international signature. The Republic recognizes the importance and global significance of this vision, and is proceeding accordingly. The first phase of our multi-year plan required the creation of a new iconography powerful enough to capture the world's imagination, and is complete. Spanning six weeks, a nation-wide, large-format, film-based portrait archive was created of these remarkable Cambodian Masters. The groundwork has been laid.
