Parts 1 and 2 are great. Think what one will, Nixon was brilliant and had a vision, yet had flaws. Which is why he is "Shakespearian," and why there are still books and movies being churned out on him to this day. It's said that every serious historian has to write at "least one Nixon book." One can rather see why in these two great videos here.

well this is very insightfull because after watching the film I thought that Nixon himself allowed Frost to make him look vulnerable but I guess that's not the case.

Frost was very clever here. Had be bullied Nixon, had he made him out to be a victim of the media's savagery and voyarism, any confession he gave could have been written off by many.
But Frost's earnest approach, the impression he was coaxing out the trust, was far more effective.
Plus, the fact he really didn't expect to get what he did made it even more remarkable and convincing.
