what was great about palpatines character was the fact that he managed to decieve both the separatists and the republic into a war with each other, giving him access to emergency powers and an eventual empire. He is my favourite villian in any film.

Fan Theories include Frank ( from his Line " I must be frank " in Episode I ) and Cos ( In Earlier Drafts , The Character that became Palpatine was called " Cos Dashit " , no joke ) !

@arfranando Well with the Rule of Two its the Sith Apprentice's duty to kill their master once they have learned all they can from them. Thus making each new generation of sith 'stronger' than the last, at least in theory.

Dang. They give the prequels so much crap, and admittedly there is a lot of sub-par acting in those movies, and Jar Jar makes me want to kill myself every time I see is fact, but the story behind it is fantastic. Palpatine's ability to deceive the Republic and the Separatists, all while seducing the most powerful Jedi to ever exist onto his side, AND pulling the wool over the Jedi's eyes the entire time, it's awesome. Palpatine is the best villain of all time, hands down.
