Death Smiles (Xbox 360) final boss: Jitterbug & Tyrannosatan

Finally, I got a really good recording of this fight.

What's notable about this video is that very few bombs are used, and only one stock is lost. Jitterbug is defeated without bombs or hyper (mainly because I didnt have either).

So this video lets you see all of their different patterns.

Though, for whatever reason, Jitterbug never did his big "cloud summon" attack that is usually seen; instead he did this... crazy tornado thing.

I have no idea what triggered that.

I was and still am, flat out playing R-Type.

I do not think that I could even get past the first 2 minutes of this game let alone the end boss.

@Armatige It's not as hard as it looks. Not this one, anyway. Simply having a million bullets on the screen does not necessarily mean that it is, at that moment, difficult. It depends on the pattern; HOW they're being fired at you is more important than how MANY.

As it is, this is one of the easier final bosses in a Cave game.

You want to see a hard one, go look up the fight with Larsa in Futari. Or the fight with Doom in Ketsui. Larsa is by far the worst of the entire genre though.

Oh wow. I went and had a look at the Larsa fight. I was laughing to hard to see the difficulty :) Good lord. I do love a good shoot em up though. I might have a look at getting Death Smiles. Thanks for the tip mate. That was amazing to look at.

If you'd like to try other "danmaku" type shmups (bullet-hell), there are a couple that you can get off of Live, if you have a 360, which you probably do if you're thinking of getting Deathsmiles.

There is Guwange, which is made by the same developer... Made by the same developer, Cave, it's not easy, but the scoring system is good and it's a fun game.

Also look for Trouble Witches Neo. Not by Cave, that one, so it's not quite like their style. Good though.

@jpopkamaria Hibachi? No. More famous, maybe, certainly more versions of him, but harder? Nah.

Hibachi in the first DDP isnt THAT bad... in DFK he's also not that bad, since you've got so much bullet-cancelling power in that game.

He was at his worst in DOJ, particularly in Death Label. I've come close to beating him in Death Label, though.... whereas with Larsa, I dont have a ghost of a chance yet. As such, I stick with Larsa being tougher.

@Deihlanos Totally, there's hard and then there's cheap. It doesn't matter how many bullets are on the screen, it's whether there's a realistic option for dodging them. Cave games are hard as hell, but they're not cheap. IMO Don Pachi is 100x easier than, say, Darius Gaiden.

@Deihlanos People have said the same thing to me about Hibachi and without the hyper canceling, I don't know if it is possible, or at least I haven't seen it.

Larsa is definitely worse, not to mention getting a chance to fight her is hard enough.
