"He doesn't much care for the Karate Mcdojo's in Nashville for self defense" - Now that I agree with. I only wish he could respect the TMA's out there who actually do train hard. That all. Ive competing in some NAGA, and Ed's students are good, never doubted that for a sec
Most of you don't know what you're talking about. Ed has a handful of fighters and 400+ regular students. The students don't train with the fighters. It's a different class. Ed actually likes Kyokushin. He doesn't much care for the Karate Mcdojo's in Nashville for self defense. Look at the list of people he's trained. Some of the best fighters in the world... He even got me to the UFC... Do you know anyone else who's done that in Nashville?
Well, im a kung fu practioner so hes not talking to me. Ive compete successfully in NAGA tuorneys and im cool with MMA. Obviously mr.Clay has never been to a Kyokushin school.
thats why i didnt give nashville mma a try...i heard to many bad things..u have the hard core wannbe ufc fighters pounding on the man only wanting to learn self denfense....
But when your fighting in something like the UFC, this is what we call mutual combat. This is not the same as a self-defense situation. In a street fight do people lay on the ground for 15min? Maybe not.
Karate will get you killed. That's a pretty big statement. Do you have some proof of at least one incident somebody tried to use karate in a self-defense situation, but because they specifically studied karate they died?
WARNING KARATE WILL GET YOU KILLED best opener ever lol

Ummm... I rather be pounded on more if I was learning self defense. If you take it slow and easy, how is it going to apply in a real world situation?
Oh hey here take my leg! Thanks man! High Five!
