Greg and Jef in Ray's Place Campground in West Virginia on a hot summer day. You won't see Greg or Jef, but you will see lots of heavenly beer bottles and good Clean Living and stop-frame animation. Dedicated to the GSPs. See you next year. Don't forget to play BAG.
This is actually a few hundred photos hand-edited with the help of some software I mostly wrote for making time-lapse movies on pumpkincam.net. My brother Greg and I took all of the pictures while the campground was quiet on a hot humid day in July (man, we were sweating). I ran into some difficulties with frame registration because we didn't have any tripod with us (it's amazing what duct tape can do though). I need to give thanks to David Hilvert for helping me solve that problem. I was aware he was working on a program to combine mulitple hand-held photos into one high quality photo. I didn't need the high-quality, but I did need the frame registration. I contacted David and explained what I needed, and he sent me back an alpha version of his program with the option I needed. Here's the irony: the name of his program is "ale!".
There are low-tech special-effects galore in this vid. I hope it inspires you to make your own stop-frame.
Thanks to Ray. He has the best campground in West Virginia. See him in Hico, visit rayscampground.com
Finally thanks to Clean Living. They perform the song you hear. I did get permission to use it in this video - I contacted one of them a few years ago by email, and he said "go for it, man". It's the perfect song for this fun.
Wow... How disappointing. Way to ruin your Testimony Guys. You're leading so many people astray.
