this is the best version!!! Joshua Bell is probably my favorite violinist---that is if I had to chose....I'm a violist, that's why!

Violin's good...but the clarinet playing the theme at the end on the background is reallygiving goosebumps...simple,melancholi
c and warm...thumbs up for the clarinetist!!! -

There is one. Carl Fischer book called 36 Repertoire Pieces with piano & flute. But it's in G minor not the original key of E minor. I like it better in the original key. It would have a richer tone for flute. I have no idea why they changed the key. I may have to transpose it. Bummer.

Trop beau...
Myself, I prefer a warmer rendition of Vocalise than Joshua has done . . . I prefer instrumentalists to play Vocalise than vocalists, but this version for me to too fast . . . This song in particular shouldn't be any kind of a race . . . and I feel like there's some sort of cold winter rush to finish this up . . . Joshua is a wonderful artist, but this style on this song isnt' for me. I loved Anna Moffo's version of Vocalise and it's much slower allowing the intricate harmonies to be heard.

@Kendahlarama Fair enough. That's the beauty of art; there is a diversity of opimions to keep things interesting. Will try to listen to her interpretation.

Perlman's rendition is heart wrenchingly beautiful, and one of my favorites. But Bell's... It's so much warmer and introspective. It beautifully paints the image of a desolate winter of the heart. Breathtaking!

Sometimes I feel Perlman's buttery and rich playing could have more introspection and Bell could have more meat in his playing. Joshua Bell is in my opinion, the best man for this kind of romantic pieces.
