I am also thinking to file DP3 as false dowry given were made in Domestic Violence. My action plan is to file divorce, then get a maintenance case, I am ready to pay maintenenace if the court says so, then based on evidence collected of false dowry allegations, I will fire my DP3 salvo.

Isn't it surprising that when dowry giving, taking, abetting, promoting all are crime then why only dowry takers are punished while all other accomplices roam free. Astonishingly, it happens though dowry can not be taken if there is no giver. And shockingly, taking dowry becomes crime after several years of marriage or wife or in-laws are not happy for any reasons and marriage breaks. Wow!!!, what a great tool of extortion in the hand of corrupt police, unethical lawyers and unscrupulous wifes.

@madhupi If You are within your culture and right wish you 100 % success. The worst part in English law that they are partner of our women. And this is very hard. in my case we win but 50% on child to keep.I am still fighting.

@madhupi They stopped dowry take or given. the law in it self is foolish. Look at 498a and women’s right in America U.K. where by they introduce a way to rob mans family e.g. 50% of money and property should be given to women upon divorce. isn’t this a legalised prostitute ? Every woman in BRITAIN is legalised prostitute. I can’t see any fairness on man and his family. Women should admire the acceptance of women in another family or they should be prostitute in there own home. I AM ANTY 498a .

@respondindia DP3 is law made in 1961 I think when Indian Government created the ANti Dowry law. The clause 4 is punitive on persons who ask dowry. Dowry itself is used as a weapon by women to harass husbands. they slap DP4 and 498a on husband. DP means Dowry Prohibition. In 2008, some Mens Rights activists studying this law stumbled on DP3 , clause 3 which says that even giving dowry is crime. So the girls in saying they gave huge money as dowry are infact partner to crime.200 cases filed now

@madhupi can you tell me what DP3 is? I am not sure as I never heard that terms before. Is it DP 3 common in India? I think it may be termed differently here in the UK. All I know is a long barrel 303.
