@elfs2go Yeah Fema really gave the people the shaft around here, didn't they? Our of 100's of homes flooded out in Austell, they bought out I think 18 or so. You can drive down Love st. into Austell from Old Alabama Rd., and there are still vacant homes and duplexes. Same with homes off of Clay Road. I have drive through Silver Creek ranch off of Skyview to see if those people rebuilt or not. I will check the next time I go to the post office.

I drive down Blairs Bridge Rd a lot, and you can still see debris everywhere along Sweetwater creek. It also appears as if the food depot is coming along, and hopefully they will be opening back up soon.

I live in Australia. My friend just wrote me after recovering my address. She lives in Lithia Springs Georgia USA. I heard of the flooding on the news last year. She lost everything. I found this video.

@Rachelleeeebaby It was horrible. We were literally trapped in. There was one road that if you wanted to use it but it took 7 hours. So many people have lost everything and to this day still are trying to rebuild. I hope your friend was able to rebuild being fema really wasn't helping.

During the flooding I was blocked off from reaching the rest of my family. I live just off of Thornton Rd, and luckily my house is up on a hill. Not even 1/2 mile from me everything was under water. My family all live in Douglasville, and I couldn't even make it to Fairburn rd. due to every route being flooded. I would have never imagined in my entire life flooding like this taking place around here. I have seen some minor flooding in the past, but nowhere near the extent of this.

I neither have seen it floood like this EVER, we too were stuck in the county for a week being fairburn rd was the only way out, but it took up to 7 hours to get through. Most people see this a a liltle problem, but 99% of our bridges were washed out, we had no water due to many main breaks, and to find water was hard, and yes we have had flooding before but never to this extent. Many people have lost everything due to it, so very sad to me still.
