I've just finished reading Orwell's '1984' That's the 3rd time I've read it since the actual year.
Scary the first time, scarier still the second, and now it's just chilling in its parallels.
America's finished, and THAT is the scariest thing of all.

Dave here. Little Miss Pigtails probably sings a meaningful song, but we'll never know. There are singers and then there are "song stylists." Some "song stylists" are good at it, if they can be understood, if that's their point. "Pigtails" is not one of those. As the Russians would say, "Zhal'."

@killerbandit Not gonna happen. Bush was the beginning of the end of America. Vidal is right to be so pessimistic about the future here. He knows politics and our history very well. We are a trillion dollars in debt to a Communist power, thanks to Bush. They will be the next superpower very soon and we will be at their mercy. We already are. All they have to to is unpeg the Yuan and we are SCREWED!
