July 3, 1986 - This segment begins with President Ronald Reagan saying "...now we will unveil that gallant lady. Thank you, and God bless you all." At that time, the statue was illuminated. A Celebration of Liberty, hosted by CBS news anchor Dan Rather, honored 100 years of this symbol of liberty after an intense two year restoration.

  • Tears come out of my face

  • It turned green again.

  • This soundtrack is dubbed in. That is not the actual music that was played at the unveiling.

  • Dat is so epic win. Ya obama is retarded as hell

  • @VIDEOTIMEMACHINE Before Republicans began outsourcing them.

  • I'm typing this on the 25th anniversary of this celebration.

It was the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. To mark this milestone, commemorative coins were sold and I was one of the purchasers.

  • I was a quarter-mile away with my family & at least a hundred thousand others in the swamps of Liberty State Park. Military fighter jets did a flyby about 2 hours earlier as the sun went down. We beheld the greatest fireworks show ever that night.

  • Back when America was great and we had jobs

  • @CoSpr443 god bless you

  • lol
