Hosier Lane Graffiti Melbourne 2009 February

These walls were considered vandalism and painted over for the Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne, 2006 (Google for Banksy's great article in the Guardian).

You see, Australia is obsessed with spectator sport yet is in the grip of an obesity epidemic. Dance culture is frowned upon by the establishment. As we all know graffiti regenerates (as you can see in the video) and this is ironically the most popular tourist attraction in town.

That is such an "obvious" idea... and yet I had not even thought of it! Will do so each time I revisit (once or twice a year). Good idea. Yet another lo-tech way of telling a story.
