When making your preparation plans it's best to start with a list of lists. Then you can start moving from preparedness to self reliance.

  • Yeah that doesn't seem like a very good plan to me. In fact the reverse is now true. More and more people are returning to live on small farms as a way of being more self sufficient. I'm not one of those, I live in a city.

  • I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that it was in the bible. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we have other books that we consider cannon. That reference is in the Doctrine and Covenance.

  • There's a scripture that says "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear". Don't be scared, get prepared!

  • i remember my junior college professor stating that we as a nation should just give up farms and be a completely industrial nation. i thought, this man is an idiot!!! i was only 18 and i recognized that if we gave up our farms our enemies could starve us to death. my reference? that's how the south lost the civil war. they were heavily dependent on cotton as a trade. they failed to grow their own crops.

  • whare can i find that scripture in the bible?

  • It is scary to think of what could await us. But yes it is important to be prepared.
