http://www.jandaexotics.com Here is a litter of flying squirrel babies, they are so sweet and curious! They love to be on people and love thier pouches!
Those are the cutest little buggers I have ever seen. That sound is VERY familiar, as we live in the woods. As soon as the sun drops, they are out playing like little maniacs. I would looove to have one. I've had lots of Deer Mice babies I've raised from orphaned little pinkies. I now work entirely from home , do you think a little baby Flying Squirrel would be a wise addition to "the family"? (We live in central NH w/3 dogs.) Thanks :)
We found 5 in a fallen tree after a storm, in central Wisconsin. Called the DNR and they recommended a caretaker. I wanted to keep a couple but figured it would be too much work... and apparently DNR prohibits people from taking them in as pets
I had three that we rescued from the ground in our back yard. The momma would not come down to get them. We watched over them all night but she woudln't come down.. So we took them in and bottle fed them as their eyes were not even open at this point. We kept them for two years and when we moved, we took them with us. Dad built them a "flight" cage and we set that outside by a huge tree in which Dad had build a feeding station and nest box. They eventually all went back to the wild.
Nice gams
