If you are going to judge it based on "unique", I don't think you can harshly judge anything this band created. Change was the byword of Queen, and they never stopped living up to it. "Better" and "worse" become completely arbitrary once you take that into consideration.

They did what they pleased and did it well. Period.

I agree with you in the matter of their own musical experience. However, my personal taste lies on their stuff from the seventies. For me, Queen was really unique in that decade.

I disagree with you hardcr8, I think Queen became better and better in the late 80's. Their rock was improving, as well as Freddie's voice. The albums A Kind Of Magic, The Miracle and Innuendo show that! Freddie was taken from us in his finest form, really a pity!
