This is an end of the week performance by students in Gaye's blues vocals workshop at Centrum's Blues Week in Port Townsend, WA. In this workshop, Gaye has encouraged students to sing their hearts, to sing like they mean it, to lay their souls bare. She has taught phrasing, breathing, octave slurs, improvisational techniques, etc. Gaye's workshop fosters an environment for all participants to receive and give constructive criticism. By observing each other's strengths and weaknesses, one is able to learn how to more effectively evaluate one's own performance. If time permits, performance related topics such as buying a mic, using monitors, overcoming stage jitters, throat remedies, set lists, etc., are discussed. Length of workshop depends on number of participants. For more information about Centrum's classes, visit http://centrum.org. For more information about Gaye Adegbalola, visit http://adegbalola.com.
