  • is it safe to overclock a i7 920 to 4.0Ghz without using a LCS ?

  • @TheNinwii Are you able to go into BIOS and check the temp from there? My old mobo had a fault on the soldered joint where the CPU fan connector joins the mobo. Apparently if one of those joints or wires is damaged you can get no - or wrong- temp reading.

    yeah, right now it says my cpu is 86 degrees C and its at idle. but the core and gpu temperatures seems reasonable at least

  • @TheNinwii Speedfan can be wrong. It says my OCZ Vertex 3 SSD is running 128 degrees C!

  • for some weird reason, my cpu according to speedfan is -15c at idle and i have the stock cooler
