Me VS God Part II: God's Image Debunked

A quick debunking of the substantive interpretation of "God's Image."

There is a natural human psychological bias known as the "false consensus effect" that causes us to falsely assume that other people/cultures/creatures/etc have the same behaviors, feelings, or attributes, as we do. I make the argument that the whole notion of "God's image" is really just a natural extension of this effect. God is easier to relate to, and therefore easier to believe in, when God is "like us."

It is very common for religious thinkers to attribute human-like characteristics to God's form. They do this without realizing that human anatomy is the product of an evolutionary history, and that assigning such properties to God only makes Him an evolved being as well. Even the mere act of assigning God a male gender is a dead giveaway because sexual reproduction is a huge driving force behind evolution.

I mean really, guy. Did you even watch the video? Or did you simply miss the part where calling God a "HE" or "THE FATHER" is a dead giveaway that you're just imposing a worldly bias onto your deity? The very concept of gender is meaningless when viewed outside of evolution. Gender exists solely as a mechanism for mixing and matching genes within the offspring of a population. Or have you never wondered why there are only two genders as opposed to three or four?

This video ignores that The Holy Bible tells us exactly how God wants to appear to us. The story of Moses tells us that God, creator of the vast universe, decided that the very BEST way to appear to appear to mankind would be by disguising himself as a bush and lighting Himself on fire. Yes, makes perfect sense. He wants to be thought of as a small shrubbery that torches itself. That is the true image of God. Perfectly sensible god he is at that.

well thats irony for you, a man who has worked with the likes of Bohm, Feynman, Hawkings and Penrose is now suggesting that we are 3d holographic images projected from a 2d god( 10^123BITS(max.info) existing on our future/cosmological horizon.
