That was educational, I sing with an artist name Dwele and were heading Cleveland Ohio from Detroit and I had to make sure I watched this episode of Unsung. I'm happy I did. If the Ohio Players decide to do a reunion tour I am there!!

@mrstanbmw i agree...this one and the coverage done on ROGER AND THE ZAPP BAND!!!! 2 groups who had 2 unique sounds...and when the music intro came on, you would IMMEDIATELY know who they were!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

watching this, reminds me of what the music industry is missing..MUSICIANSHIP !!!!!. Back in the day, bands like OP, EWF...LTD..SLAVE...LAKESIDE...­FAZE-O...BAR-KAYS, etc, played their own instruments. And it always made the sound they were producing, sound so much more FULLER and DEEP. These piss-ant muthafukkin' wanna-bes, out here today, would slash their wrisst if somebody told them that their record wouldnt be promoted, if they didnt know how to make their own music.

this band is the epitome of what it means to be unsung....even tho, they were just as relevant as EWF, Chaka Khan/Rufus and LTD, they STILL took a backseat to bands like those. Whenever I hear them, it takes me right back to how much fun I had when I was a little guy, growing up East of the River in Wash, DC. I remember seeing the Ohio Players when they were just coming to prominence in Fort DuPont Park...and New Birth opened for them. I'll never forget that.

The ohio players was one of the hardest funk core bands ever..wht songs like funky worm fire skin tight love roller coaster i wana b free who she coo o,h,i,o ive been a big fan of thers along time and have all ther albums ...and i met them .sugarfoot diamond billy merv ..jones..pee wee ...satch... The ohio players r stil the baddest 2 this day .even thou they dnt have all the original memenbers?????
