@hockeydudesam26 because if you tried to catch it a) you'd most likely break your hand or wrist (have you seen how powerfull they can shoot) b) you won't catch it, it would just bend you hand back and go in. So it's safer to just punch it away than cause a howler and/or injuring yourself.

i've met him, he coached me a little, he's amazing and i dont know what they think they're doing putting busch in instead of him.

Joe Cannon is a great fine goalie. Signing with San Jose might have been a mistake, because he can't do much when their Defense stinks. the whole team is pretty bad, and they need improvement. I think he should have gotten a few more call ups to the national USA team, instead of getting 2 caps. But this is just my opinion.

Because in the EPL they are the best...in the world, you better believe when they shoot the goalkeeper isn't going to be able to hold it.

Tim Howard struggled with this early in his EPL career because he got in trouble in some games trying to hold balls he should have punched away

Few reasons, Goal keeping style is very different in parts of the world IE: Italy, England, America. Plus the ones in England are up against alot better player.

i notice that when cannon dives for a ball, he cathces it most of the time, but when i watch keeprs in the english premier league, they ususally tend to just punch it away. I wonder why that is.....
