"I think the govt is as responsive as the American people expect them to be"? This lady is joking, right? What we should have learned after 9/11 and Katrina was that those who expect government at any level to do anything more complex than garbage collection are inattentive.
Most democrat voters don't realize who they are voting for. Most democrats are not communists, but the leadership is plainly Marxist/communist. Wake up America -- stop voting for communists. This doesn't have a good ending unless we wake up.
well said Kosmic- The Party of Nope -repubs- feel contebt with just getting overpaid for saying Nope to everything and meanwhile do nothing else but bitching.
"owned publicly, owned by the people of the United States".Last time I checked refineries are owned by publicly traded corporations which are owned by the american people.
what a completely immature, stubborn, boring man. if he wasn't sitting there mumbling and repeating her answers he would have nothing else to say! he did not give any reasons to keep oil in the private sector!
ugh, whatever, even if oil was nationalized that would be the same as corporate ownership because corporations own our government(s)!!!!!
Fox News likes putting "light-weights of the left" on air. After all, what good would a real debate be?
Self styled "fiscal conservatives" have a huge blind spot for the ways capital (if it can even really be called that anymore - as we've learned, you don't even need real assets anymore to be a parasite) benefits directly and indirectly from the People's purse and Public institutions. Ironically, it's these "conservatives" who are in favor of "something for nothing."
As to the question of certain sectors being placed in public control...
Do private armies sound good? How about private policing? The fact is there are ALREADY any number of sectors which are considered so essential, and so in need of transparency that they are public entities.
The conclusion is clear - not everything is for sale, not everything should be a free-for-all. Infrastructure, health care, responsible management of natural resources - these are vital "national security" issues.
