1. If there are no records kept by the US, whose data are you using to back your incredulous numbers?
2. UN voted on a Resolution. Said resolution gave Saddam an ultimatum, which he breached.
3. You said we sold Iraq WMD materials and found them there. That's your statement, not mine. So the WMD materials that were banned under UN Resolutions was THERE, giving rise to the invasion, according to your argument.

I don't know! I frankly don't trust anything someone says in Congress without verification - democrat or republican. To quote Mark Twain, "There's lies, damn lies, and then there's statistics." Either side of the aisle will take whatever numbers they have and argue their extremely partisan position, so Riegle's spin on whatever sources he had were spun to fit his political needs.
But it remains that you haven't actually formed any argument that by conclusion of law would make the war illegal.

Nneither Sean Hannity nor Senator Riegle went over to Iraq to investigate in 1994, so let's first discount what either party has to say as hearsay. There are certain documents that escape the hubris of partisanship, such as those retained by the Congressional Research Service, which may occasionally pick and choose sources, but might be the best we have. So, you go and get the CSR report that shows whatever it is you want to prove. Just cite the document number and I'll read my own copy.

I meant to say "Journalists" and not "Reporters" - GB and Hannity do "report" the news to some extent. It's best to call them "Commentators" or "Editorialists".

Sorry, dead wrong here, Marx espoused a utopia with little or no government. You should have said "Leninist" communist because Lenin was an intellectual creep that thought he was smarter than everyone including the markets and when he couldn't force people to follow his agenda, he just grew the government until it swallowed up all of his opponents. Well, he got rid of opponents in other ways too, but you get the drift.
