Great God . . . the summer of '79. Mary and I were twelve years old and in the seventh grade, out for the summer. This song played at the community pool in our small town on July 4th. She and I grew up on the same block but I never noticed her until that day. This song played while we were at the snack bar as she caught my eye. That afternoon we became boyfriend/girlfriend and shared the rest of the summer. Later that year she moved away:( My first heart ache. But I'll always remember . . Mary.
