The Blautaler Schuhplattler of Kansas City present unique and energetic entertainment in traditional German folk dance style. Our authentically attired group emphasizes original Bavarian schuhplattling -- the vigorous, athletic, shoe-slapping/stomping/jumping movements created by Alpine villagers hundreds of years ago.

Shows features alpine bells, whips, woman "flying", musical saw, yodeling as well as the familiar intricate figure dances where the men flirts with his lady as she showcases grace and coordination in non-stop twirling. Blautaler promotes the beauty of this Old World Folk Culture through authentic dance, music, dress and custom.

The Blautaler perform locally for community and civic festivals, fund-raisers, and numerous cultural arts events, as well as private parties. The dancers, all members of the German American Citizens Association of Kansas City, Missouri, are volunteers dedicated to the preservation of this piece of history by recreating enjoyable dances.

In addition to our busiest time during the Oktoberfest season, Blautaler offers enthralling programs for Fasching, the German Mardi Gras, Maifest, Sommerfest, and Christmas traditions.

  • Thanks for watching!

    Wise and clever words.

  • Never trust a skinny chef, or a skinny German dancer. These folks are trustworthy as you can tell by their physiques. Looks as though they have enjoyed Hofbrau and sauerbraten at many Oktoberfests through the years. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes, I agree!

I certainly am not aware of any Nazi connections.

These folks just love the old German culture, clothes, dancing. food and beer!

    Thanks for watching.

  • As long as you don't do any Nazi marches on your Oktoberfests I'm perfectly glad with how my country is respresented in the United States. :-)
