  • The start of the song reminds me of certain songs from Les Mis, especially "Do You Hear the People Sing?" I really love the music. It's a shame it's not done more often.

  • Matt is good...but he has a tendency to dump notes and sing a little flat. just my opinion....

  • @Peadarisback I think this is an earlier version actually

  • intresting version of "Martian Guerre" (the song) it's a mix of the orginal london lyrics with some new lyrics like "that bastard Guillame" it used to be Pierre his uncle he was talking about....When were the new revised lyrics wrriten? Was it the re-vised version that was created a few months after the first london version (which failed)

  • oh man...this is sick..and now my new audition piece...WOW!

i can see why it wouldnt do great since it was right after Les mis..with the whole french peasentry, but this music is just BEAUTIFUL thanks mac and boub!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Cameron's face during the song!

  • I think this was the best show Boublil/Schonberg ever did. I say that in past tense because they have continued to muck about with it & radically change it until it's not the same show. I saw the OLC after rewrites. Won Best Musical that year. What an amazing company of actors. There was a point where they were performing the original show by night, rehearsing the 'new' show by day & also preparing for OLC recording. That makes for a special kind of bonding that was palpable in the theatre.

  • Matt Rawle singing is simply mind-blowing. It's simply amazing and he's so gorgeous too! :D

  • Terrific.

I heard this show a number of years ago, and was very taken with it.

Does anyone know if it is available of production (not professional, but regional theater)

  • This is a brilliant documentary. I've never seen the show, just got the original cast album. Does anyone know the Forbidden Broadway spoof of the show?

    "Look, it's Martin Guerre!

And I confess, this shows a mess

    As is my hair!"
